We have a repair rig on the Costello site. I'd take my hair dryer over to the site but then again I assume they have very sophisticated tech. But the fact remains that the findings can influence policy, and that is why both sides are so focused on them.

Regarding federal oversight. States, not the feds, regulate the drilling industry, and exemption from both the Safe Drinking Water Act in the 2005 Energy Bill and the federal hazardous waste laws continues that approach. I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know.

www.epa.gov/osw/nonhaz/industrial/special/oil/oil-gas.pdf

http://water.epa.gov/type/groundwater/uic/class2/hydraulicfracturing/wells_hydroreg.cfm
TOM WILBERhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16103105549852845055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6949864949316311883.post-57109780917364747222013-02-21T13:16:32.122-08:002013-02-21T13:16:32.122-08:00To say that the gas industry is exempt from federa...To say that the gas industry is exempt from federal oversight isn't correct, but we'll let that sleeping dog keep on snoozing.

The only reason there is any hype around this is because those opposed to drilling desperately wish it to be a peg to hang their hats on. It's a talking point, and a misleading one at that.

I'd type out an extensive response, but John Hanger already hit the nail on the head here:

http://johnhanger.blogspot.com/2011/12/putting-epa-wyoming-report-under.html

Michael Knapphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09678133434815647612noreply@blogger.com
